Workspace design becomes a challenge when there is space and budget crunch. A 14 feet by 11 feet room with an abrupt column right in the space was to be used as an office by a chartered accountant. A cabin for the head, four work stations, storage cupboards and entrance passage was an ambitious requirement that triggered a process in design in which the volume was divided just right to generate hierarchy in volumes. A partition that accommodates storage and workstations also clutches the column, making it a part of one. Maintaining transparency by use of glass led to a sense of a bigger space. Vibrant colors such as occur tack boards and lemon grass green laminate enhances the work environment with white and grey walls that provides a canvas for them.
